Support code for PowerBASIC and Visual Basic

Downloading is now available. We will have both source code and dll's with examples in the near future - right now source to the dll is not available. All DLL's are written in PowerBASIC, so the code is not bloated. PB Win 7.0 was just released in June of 2002 and all of the routines here were written in the beta versions first and then compiled in the current version before uploading. All new files since 6/16/02 are in PB Win 7.0 and may not be compatible with earlier versions of the PBDll compiler. To learn more about the fine line of compiler tools available from PowerBASIC, click here.

Below is a screen shot of the registry tool demo screen, using the RSRegistryTool.DLL. The VB demo looks the same except for the name and VB does not have DWORDS, so the DWORD test is missing.  In the screen show, Test Create Key was first pressed and the result window shows the resulting key. Next, String Value was created, but we first read the value and found nothing stored, so the default came back. We then saved a Long value, but have not read it as yet. While we went in order, the only item that has to be done first is Create a key. For the demo, but for an existing key, this software can read and save those. Download the program now! (new 3/28/04 upload fixes a string bug)

In the January 2001 issue of VBPJ (Visual Basic Programming Journal) there was an article entitled "Add C++ to your VB Apps" which said 'Replace slow VB functions with slicker ones in C++ to make your VB apps run faster". But we say "why change the language to be faster? Write the DLL in PowerBASIC and it wil be more compact and run Faster than c++!" Download the code now and see for yourself.

Did you ever forget your Screen Saver Password? This program, written in PowerBASIC DLL, is only 16k in the exe. Does not require any run-time, but it does use the Ridge Software Registry DLL (along with other windows DLL's as every windows program does), available above and included in the setup file. If you already have this on your system this will not overwrite your file. Source available soon.  Download Now.

OpenFileDialog. Have a problem with it in PowerBASIC? Download the source code and a demo of how to use it. This is a zip file and not a setup file.

Print a text file from Windows using either your default printer or printer of your choice. Source and download on this page
